Final Fantasy 14 mobile game is in development

A new rumor has emerged that Square Enix and Tencent are working together on a Final Fantasy 14 mobile game.

Final Fantasy 14 continues to be a money maker for Square Enix, and despite its unsuccessful initial launch in 2010, the MMORPG continues to thrive. After the release of the game for the Xbox Series X/S and the release of the Dawntrail expansion pack, it seems that the mobile version of this work is also on the way.

Kurakasis, one of the leaky sources in the gaming industry, recently published a post on the Exputer forum claiming that Final Fantasy 14 is in development for mobile. It has been said that the port of this version is done by Tencent. This Chinese company entered into a strategic partnership with Square Enix in 2018.

Tencent and Square Enix initially worked together on a NieR mobile game, but the project was eventually canceled.

With the release of the Dawntrail add-on, Final Fantasy 14 set the record for the highest number of concurrent players since 2013.
