France in pursuit of doubling the gold medals in the Paralympics
According to Eviralnews and quoted by RMC Sport; Marie-Amelie Lefebvre, President of the French National Paralympic Committee (CPSF), spoke about her country's goals for the Paris Games.
“The goal is first and foremost gold medals because that's the most important thing on the table,” Lefebvre said. I was asked if this ambition compares to being in the top 5 Olympic teams. But we had unsuccessful results and we have come a long way. In Tokyo we finished 14th and aiming for the top eight would mean doubling the number of gold medals and that is the real ambition of France.
The head of the French National Paralympic Committee noted: Out of 22 sports, we have 20 sports in which there is a real chance for a medal. We can expect cycling and swimming medals. Our swimmers were in Tokyo at the start of the cycle and will be proud in Paris in 2024. There is also hope in martial arts and we have a very good team in judo.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held from September 7 to 18.
