Granting more powers to security institutions is on Berlin's agenda

Eviralnews,, quoted by the German newspaper “Pasayer Neue Presse”, the Social Democratic Party of the German Chancellor insists on giving more powers to the security forces in order to increase internal security in view of the recent terrorist attack with a knife in Solingen, Germany.

The party wants to strengthen the security of citizens in Germany with the help of tougher laws, more defense for victims and new powers for security agencies. Thus, some ten days after the deadly stabbing attack in Solingen, the Social Democrats in the Bundestag are presenting a position paper, seeking comprehensive government action at all levels.

The German Social Democratic Party faction wants to respond in this way to the growing threats of organized crime, extreme right-wing violence and self-described Islamists, as well as hate and incitement on the Internet. The Social Democratic Party wants to present the plan, which is available to the German correspondent in Berlin, at the meeting of its parliamentary group on Thursday and Friday in Neuen Brandenburg.

In this paper, the Social Democratic Party of Germany refers to the term “turning point” coined by Olaf Schultz, Chancellor of Germany.

Thus, more than two years after the German chancellor classified Russia's attack on Ukraine as a turning point, thereby justifying support for Kiev and new military efforts, the authors of the parliamentary faction in the Social Democratic Party emphasized: the turning point in Foreign affairs, security and… defense and development policy – in internal security should also be continued and this issue should also be thought about.

The plan also states that the fight against organized crime should be intensified, for example against environmental crimes, piracy of products and brands, fraud in the health care system, depiction of child abuse, as well as espionage, sabotage and economic crimes. According to the party's ideas, a task force for defensive democracy in the digital age should aim, among other things, to regulate platforms more broadly. Accordingly, victims should be able to take action against anonymous accounts in the digital space.

Accordingly, with respect to terrorism, sexual violence against children, and criminal hate speech, IP address storage should be considered. More video surveillance at local festivals or concerts can also help. The faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany also wants to strengthen with its article the demand for reform of the debt law – also for the necessary investments in internal security.

In this way, the parliamentary faction of the German chancellor's Social Democratic Party wants to better prepare the security institutions for dangers “from all sides”.

This faction recently announced that it wants to propose a special fund to invest in security institutions.

The German federal government has agreed to a package of measures to tighten immigration and asylum policy in response to a knife attack in the city of Solingen that left three people dead and several others injured.

German Interior Minister Nancy Pfizer spoke of “massive measures”. “Marco Buschmann”, the Minister of Justice of this country, also spoke of a reasonable and useful package to improve the security situation in Germany and implement an even tougher real policy on immigration.

More than a week ago, three people were killed in a knife attack in Solingen, Germany.
