High dissatisfaction of Germans with living conditions

Eviralnews, in a report, Focus magazine raised the question of how people live in the corners of the Federal Republic of Germany and wrote in response that a comprehensive report from the German federal government has a lot of insight and discouraging numbers in this provides

The results of a survey show that many German people are dissatisfied with their personal life conditions, including in the areas of housing, transportation and education. This result is shown by the data of the first equivalence report of the German federal government, which will be approved and then presented by the cabinet on Wednesday.

The report, which aims to show the differences between the visible regions, has already been made available to Tagus Spiegel. In this report, citizens were examined in all 400 regions and independent cities of Germany.

According to the report, more than eight out of 10 respondents find it very or somewhat difficult to find affordable housing. The state of mental understanding in big cities is especially difficult. Transport connections and movement are rated as good on average by only 44% of citizens across the country.

The results of this survey also show that the health system is not rated well either: 41 percent of those surveyed say that health and nursing care has worsened in the past five years. Only 5% see improvement. This result is especially clear in sparsely populated rural areas.

Based on this, only 43% of the surveyed people fully or partially agree that the quality of schools is good. For kindergartens and full-day programs in schools, this figure is 39 percent. For those with minor children themselves, the second figure is significantly higher, but only 58 percent. Assessments about the availability of space for this purpose are also clear. Across the country, just under a quarter of citizens say there are adequate educational and care options for children up to age three.

Based on this, half of the surveyed people believe that local public transportation is sufficiently developed in their country. 38% of people say that this transportation hinders their daily life.

When we come to the question of whether high-speed Internet is available or not, the average level of satisfaction from zero to ten is 5.9 percent in the country.

But there were also positive data in this regard, for example, 57% of the surveyed people evaluate their local recreation areas as relatively good and 28% even very good. Good local health and care services, affordable housing, safety and good condition of nature and environment are especially important for people.

This report states: Despite all these problems, people generally have a positive opinion. According to the report, almost two-thirds of people surveyed are generally somewhat or completely satisfied with their current life situation. In East Germany, satisfaction is slightly lower on average than in the West.

Almost one in five people have the impression that life in their region is worse than in the rest of Germany, the report says, with this perception being strongest in eastern Germany – but there are also isolated areas in western Germany where the assessment is relatively low. There are negatives of them. On the contrary, 28% of the surveyed people say that life in their region is better than in other places.

For the report, data was collected on many things that affect quality of life: from air quality to the number of daycare places to the economic strength of an area. 42 indicators were created, which were divided into the fields of “economy”, “society”, “public infrastructure and services” and “climate and environment”.

This data is divided into 400 districts and independent cities in the Federal Republic. This survey was also conducted in all 400 districts. In this way, it is possible to compare the subjective evaluations and the objective situation and provide a new and accurate image report of the quality of life in the corners of the Federal Republic.

The report is also intended to contribute to a more accurate distribution of public money in the future and to evaluate the budget system for structurally weak areas.

The message that the German federal government associated with the publication of this report is that living conditions and opportunities in different regions of Germany are not separating, but rather becoming closer together.
