I congratulated Williams on winning the championship / It is a blessing to have Rafinha

Barcelona played their first home game of the 2025-2024 season against Athletic Bilbao, and a spectacular goal from Lamine Yamal and a late goal from Robert Lewandowski earned the team three valuable points.

Barca had a week full of ups and downs and this victory was vital for them. Ilkay Gundogan returned to Manchester City and Danny Olmo has not yet completed his registration in La Liga. But Hansi Flick tried to focus on what was under his control, and he did a good job.

“I'm more satisfied with today's game than Valencia,” Flick said after the game. I'm very happy with the win and I'm also happy to have a father back. “Sometimes the kids lost their cool, but it's good to have enthusiasm.”

Barcelona tried hard to sign Nico Williams in the summer but failed. Flake hugged Williams after the game, explaining: “When I saw Nico Williams I congratulated him on winning the European Cup, that's all.”

Flick went on to explain the performance of his players and said:I am very happy with Lewandowski's performance. He plays and trains very well, he presses very well. I know the best form of Loa and I can see that form now. Rafinha can play in any attacking position. He plays as number 10 this season, he is very good at pressing. After a difficult pre-season, we are happy to get six points. I think we all played well in pressing and it's a blessing to have a player like Rafinha.»
