Syria's oil, gas, and grains are easily taken out of the country and resold by the Americans and their allied forces. These resources do not enter the coffers of the legitimate government of Syria, but are used to continue supporting separatist groups and create a quasi-government there.”
He emphasized that the richest oil and gas fields as well as the most fertile agricultural lands of Syria are located in an area with a radius of about 55 kilometers under the control of the US forces. By occupying these lands, Washington claims that it controls the security of these areas and fights against the expansion of the ISIS terrorist group, while the reality is something else.
Lavrov added that the Russian armed forces, which entered Syria in 2015, helped to stabilize the situation in the country, when the terrorists were on the threshold of the city of Damascus and the Western coalition led by the United States was trying to dominate the eastern regions of the country. . The foreign minister recalled that last year meetings were held between representatives of Syria, Russia, Turkey and Iran in order to normalize relations between Damascus and Ankara. These negotiations were held thanks to the efforts of the ministries of foreign affairs and defense of Russia, and such meetings are scheduled to be repeated this year. According to Lavrov, Russia is interested in the normalization of relations between Türkiye and Syria.

Russia called for an end to airstrikes on Syria
Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations, emphasized that Moscow demands the cessation of airstrikes by the Western coalition led by the United States on Syria, because the current situation prevents a political settlement in the country.
This diplomat said at the Security Council meeting on Saturday: “Stopping the foreign military presence, which violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, is necessary for stable stability in this country.”
Polyansky also reminded that the sustainable development of the Syrian Arab Republic will be possible only if the West refrains from its stubborn anti-Damascus positions.
Russian aerospace forces destroyed two terrorist headquarters in Syria
