Israel opposes the ceasefire to vaccinate Gazan children

Eviralnews,, Channel 13 of the Israeli regime reported on Wednesday evening that Netanyahu and the security and military institutions accepted the request of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken for a ceasefire in certain areas in Gaza for polio vaccination. The news was denied by Netanyahu's office.

In response to Channel 13's news, the office of the Prime Minister of the occupation regime of Israel said: “This will not be a ceasefire, but it is related to the allocation of specific places in Gaza for vaccination.” According to this announcement, Netanyahu's cabinet ministers have also agreed to this issue.

The occupation regime opposes the ceasefire, while the World Health Organization has previously called for a seven-day ceasefire to vaccinate children in Gaza and said that vaccination operations are impossible without a ceasefire.

On the other hand, the Hamas movement said in a statement: “Netanyahu's talk about allocating special places for polio vaccination is deception and evasion.”

Hamas also emphasized that the policy of Netanyahu and his government is to defeat the UN vaccination program and deny hundreds of thousands of children from receiving the polio vaccine.

This resistance movement also asked the United Nations and the international community to pressurize in any way to accept a ceasefire by Netanyahu to vaccinate Gazan children.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has previously announced the arrival of 1.26 million doses of polio vaccine to this group and said that 640,000 one-day-old babies to 10-year-old children are to be vaccinated, and each child should receive 2 doses. Vaccines should be given to children by mouth and in the form of drops.

The effort of the United Nations and the Gaza Ministry of Health to vaccinate children comes after the first case of polio was officially registered in Gaza five days ago; A virus that has re-emerged after 25 years of lack of healthcare and treatment system in Gaza and there is a risk of its spread even outside of this war-torn region.
