Joint anti-terrorist exercise between China and Belarus

Eviralnews, quoted by “NTV”, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced in Minsk on Platform X that Chinese soldiers entered Belarus for a joint anti-terrorist exercise. The exercise will be held from July 8 to 19 based on the decisions taken.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, this joint training will help to exchange experiences and improve cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese units, and lay the foundation for further development of relations between Belarus and China in the field of training of joint forces.

Details of the planned exercises have not been released. The exact number of Chinese soldiers involved in this exercise is not known. Photos released by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus show a Chinese transport aircraft capable of carrying hundreds of Chinese soldiers.

The strained relations between Belarus and the West, especially with Ukraine, have recently worsened again. Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, has repeatedly portrayed the West as a threat to his country. The country's closest ally, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has given him permission to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in his country.

Recently, Belarus has also increased its forces on the border with Ukraine, justifying this with alleged provocations by the neighboring country. Kiev, in turn, feels threatened by Minsk: Russian troops entered the country from Belarus more than two years ago during the attack on Ukraine.
