Moscow: The ban on Russian media is the decline of liberal democracy
Eviralnews,, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, described the action of the US government in sanctioning the Russian media on the pretext of interference in the presidential elections as a sign of the decline of the liberal democracy system.
On Wednesday, the United States declared a crime against two employees of the Russian network “Rashatudi” and targeted the senior editors of this Russian state media. America has accused this Russian media of trying to influence the 2024 US presidential election.
US Attorney General Marrick Garland has also announced that he has seized 32 Internet domains that were part of Russia's alleged campaign to interfere in the US election.
“An answer will be given,” said Maria Zakharova.
“We warn that attempts to deport Russian journalists from the United States, create unacceptable working conditions for them, or any other form of obstruction, including through visa tools, are a basis for actions,” the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in an interview with the Russian media outlet RYANVOSTI. It will become a symmetric or asymmetric retaliation against the American media.”
In another part of her speech, Zakharova said: “When American officials resort to these primitive methods to influence the opinion of their voters, this means the decline of their liberal democracy.”
