Musk launched Türkiye's first telecommunication satellite

According to Tasnim news agency, CBS News announced in a report that the Falcon 9 rocket of the SpaceX space company, which is owned by the famous American billionaire Elon Musk, launched the first telecommunication satellite made in Turkey on Monday.

According to the report, the satellite is a powerful relay station designed to provide secure military communications within Turkey's borders while providing extensive commercial services across India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

After this launch, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on social networks: We have just launched a domestically made telecommunication satellite called Turksat 6A.

He continued: We have witnessed another honor for our country and nation, more than 81% of subsystems, satellite ground stations and software of the 6A project, which is very important for the future of our country in space, were produced by Turkey with national resources.

Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Oraloglu also said that Turkey will join an exclusive club of 11 countries that are capable of building high-tech communication satellites.

Before launching this satellite, he wrote in Turkish on social networks: Türksat 6A will be a symbol of our independence in space and our unity on earth and in the sky.

The lift-off of this satellite from pad 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (subsidiary of the US Air Force) was done at 7:30 pm local time with a little more than two hours delay due to weather conditions.
