Russia: We will definitely return to the Olympics

According to Eviralnews, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev commented on the country's participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the problems that have arisen in relation to Russians' relations with international sports federations.

The Minister of Sports of Russia said: We are a member of the Olympic family and we follow all the principles of the Olympic Charter. We did not leave a place. The fact that there are difficulties today is entirely the fault of some officials in the international sports arena. Unfortunately, they are influenced by public opinion in the West and politicians. I am confident that we will overcome this and return to the Olympic family.

This year, Russia was not allowed to participate in the team games at the Paris Olympics, and only 15 athletes competed in the individual events in neutral status from Russia. Admitted Russians were also strictly forbidden to show any connection with their country.

Previously, Mikhail Degtyarev supported the participation of Russians in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris and also announced that the Russian Olympic Committee is not going to cut ties with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
