Scary silence in the Middle East Region

The Washington Post wrote: In the Middle East, the silence is deafening. A Gaza ceasefire agreement is tantalizingly close, but negotiations have stalled. Guns are ready to fire and loaded, everyone is in a time full of anxiety and hardship; Everywhere you look in the region, there is a possibility of escalation. Either there will be progress towards peace or everyone will plunge into a new disaster.

According to ISNA, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius wrote about the status of the Gaza ceasefire negotiations 10 months after its start: According to American officials, the Gaza ceasefire agreement is “on the verge of collapse” and there is no immediate and clear alternative to it.

He further wrote: It is scary. Everywhere you look, you see signs of the calm before the storm. What is really going on in these foggy negotiations? The answer to this question is always dangerous in the Middle East, but I can share what I have heard from knowledgeable American and Israeli officials. They talk about a package of unresolved diplomatic and military issues that have become challenges for Joe Biden and his team.

In the continuation of his report, this American columnist quoted senior officials and in an attempt to blame Hamas, wrote: “The biggest remaining challenge is the silence of Hamas in response to the new proposal of the United States and mediators to resolve the remaining problems surrounding the 45-day ceasefire and It is the freedom of Israeli prisoners.

He further quoted American officials and wrote that “the American delegation has not received a response from Hamas in the last four days.”

The new American proposal is called the “bridge-building” agreement, which, according to a Palestinian source familiar with the ceasefire negotiations, “completely contradicts the proposal that the two sides had previously agreed on.” This new proposal is based on the proposal presented in May and responds to the new conditions and demands of the Zionist regime. In this proposal, the establishment of a permanent ceasefire is not mentioned, and it examines the permanent ceasefire in the second stage within a specific ceiling. It is mentioned in this proposal that unless Hamas agrees to Israel’s demands, the occupiers will return to the war in the second phase.

This American columnist says: “Hamas is wasting time so that Lebanon’s Hezbollah or Iran might change the conditions of the battlefield.”

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has promised to avenge the martyrdom of Fouad Shekar, the senior military commander of this group, by the Zionist regime. He has many Israeli targets to choose from. Iran also asserts that it will take revenge for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas in Tehran.

Netanyahu; One of the obstacles is the ceasefire

According to Ignatius himself, one of the annoying problems and basic obstacles of the American negotiating team is “Netanyahu’s disruption and time-consuming negotiations.”

A frightening silence in the Middle East

He added: “Netanyahu is still insisting on an absolute victory against Hamas, but even according to Israel’s top military commanders, this is impossible.” On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister’s insistence on the Philadelphia axis and the presence of Israeli forces in this region have not helped to improve the conditions of negotiations. But it seems that the Israeli authorities are trivializing the Philadelphia axis. Yoav Gallant, Israel’s Minister of War, claimed the destruction of the Hamas unit in Rafah and the Philadelphia axis.

He also announced the mediators’ plan to hold a meeting in Cairo and their efforts to increase pressure against Hamas.

His insistence on “the request of the mediators to increase the pressure against Hamas”, while “Hossam Badran”, a senior member of the Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas, said: “The Zionist enemy’s insistence on continuing to occupy the Philadelphia axis is one of the obstacles to reaching an agreement.” The talk of American officials about the closeness of reaching a ceasefire agreement is a deception and an illusion.

He said that in order to reach an agreement, Washington must adhere to the points and clauses that it had previously presented and that Hamas had agreed to.

In such a situation, Ignatius wrote in the final part of his analysis, without mentioning Biden’s support for the Zionist regime in the last 10 months, which, according to Zionist officials, has been unprecedented in the fake history of this regime: “Stopping the nightmare of Gaza is the biggest challenge of the Biden government. All the conditions are provided, the three-stage ceasefire proposal has also been made by his team, and if this plan is accepted, the reconstruction of Gaza will begin. This moment belongs to Biden. He must force Israel and Hamas to accept a ceasefire. If such an agreement is concluded, the ceasefire in Gaza will be one of the biggest achievements of his government.”
