Experienced German defender Mats Hummels could be set to replace Chris Smalling at Roma as the former Manchester United defender is in talks with a move to Saudi Arabia.

At the same time as the arrival of this Spanish defender, Smalling, who has a history of playing in Manchester United, is leaving Rome, and this club plans to transfer him to the Saudi professional league.

Roma coach Daniele Drossi recently spoke about his team's defensive problems and said: “The balance is positive and I am happy with the transfer market.
