Politico: Zelensky Randomly Attacked Kursk

In a report, the American publication announced the opposition of the military leaders of Ukraine to the decision of the president of this country to attack Kursk.

Eviralnews, since the beginning of Ukraine’s attack on Kursk, at the same time as the increasing support of the Western countries supporting Ukraine for this attack, many have described the Ukrainian operation as a dangerous “gamble”, the reason behind Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to attack Kursk, located in the west. They asked about Russia.

In August, Kiev moved thousands of its troops from its northern border into Russian territory in the Kursk province, with the aim of reducing the intensity of Russian military pressure on Ukrainians in the internal battle axes.

The president of Ukraine claimed that he implemented the operation in Kursk as part of a “victory plan” that he will deliver to the US government this month. At the same time, American support to Ukraine is vital for the implementation of Kiev’s plans.

In his latest interview with CNN, Zelensky also defended the decision of the Ukrainian military command to launch the Kursk offensive in Russia in August to divert Russian forces instead of keeping Ukrainian forces east of Pokrovsk.

However, according to today’s report of the American publication “Politico”, Zelensky has actually defended himself by defending the “Command of the Ukrainian Army” for starting the attack on Kursk.

This American publication interviewed wounded Ukrainian soldiers at the beginning of its analysis. “I feel honored to attack Kursk,” a 19-year-old Ukrainian soldier, whose identity has not been released, told Politico. This is the first time that Russia has been attacked since World War II. “I felt comfortable destroying Russian buildings, we were no longer on Ukrainian soil, there was no sadness.”

Opposition of military leaders to Zelensky and their Removal

Continuing his statements, he did not doubt the “importance” of the Kursk operation, and like the president of the Kiev regime, he declared the reason for the attack on Kursk to be an attempt to reduce Russian advances in eastern Ukraine.

However, Politico continued its report, quoting security sources, and wrote: “Many Ukrainian military leaders, such as Valery Zalogeny, the former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who is now the country’s ambassador to England, have opposed Zelensky’s plan to attack Kursk earlier this year. “

This American publication continued: “Other senior officials opposed to Zelensky’s operation include Emil Ishkulov, the commander of the 80th Air Assault Brigade of Ukraine, a highly respected commander. He was dismissed in July amid protests from senior officers who wanted him to remain in office.

At the time of Ishkulov’s dismissal, Ukrainian military commanders declared in a protest video: “We do not understand why commanders who have unquestionable authority among personnel and have a successful combat record and experience in a major war are not liked by the top leadership of the armed forces.” ยป

But according to the Politico report, one of the main reasons, or perhaps the “only reason” for Ishkulov’s dismissal, was his opposition to Zelensky’s “gamble” to attack Kursk.

Zelensky’s Gamble in Attacking Kursk

In this regard, two senior Ukrainian military officials, whose identities have not been disclosed, told Politico: “The reason for Ishkulov’s opposition to the attack on Kursk was that the operation resembled a dangerous gamble and its possible heavy casualties.”

According to Politico, while opposing the attack on Kursk, Zalogeny told the President of Ukraine that even if the Ukrainian forces succeed in capturing Kursk, this operation has no clear future.

In this regard, a Ukrainian official told Politico: “Zalogeny always asks what we will do after the capture of Kursk, and his questions are always left unanswered by Zelensky. According to Zalogeni, the attack on Kursk felt like a gamble.

Politico continued: “Zalogeny’s question about the achievements and the next step after the attack on Kursk remains a question of the West. “Many believe that Ukrainian forces can be trapped in Kursk and eventually, the course of the war will change to the detriment of Ukraine.”

As this American publication reports, Zelensky is forced to send troops to attack Kursk, Ukrainian fronts in Donetsk, where, according to Politico, Russian forces are increasingly advancing and approaching Pokrovsk, “the most important communication route between Donetsk and Zaporizhia.” They have gone to Kursk.

According to the American Institute for the Study of War, “Russian forces continue to make significant strategic advances southeast of Pokrovsk, an important logistics hub at the intersection of some of Ukraine’s most important rail supply routes.”

Politico also wrote: “Nevertheless, Zelensky claimed at the annual meeting in Yalta that the situation in Donetsk is returning to normal.”

Zelensky also claimed at the Yalta annual meeting last week: “In recent weeks, the situation in the Donetsk and Pokrovsk region is improving.”

According to the Politico report, Zelensky announced the reason for his claim to reduce Russian artillery attacks in these areas.

Zelensky’s contradictory claim is while he himself, a few days after the Yalta meeting, in a conversation with CNN, while requesting an increase in Western aid from Kiev and declaring the situation in eastern Ukraine to be critical, said: “It doesn’t matter how many brigades of Sharq defends, if “half of them are not equipped, this situation has no value at all. “Ukrainian forces lack armored vehicles and artillery shells, because Russian forces fire 12 times more bullets than Ukrainian forces.”

This publication also wrote: “Despite Ukraine’s attack on Kursk, Russian forces continue to make strategic gains in Donetsk and maintain their relentless pressure, and according to Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian casualties in Donetsk are increasing, forcing the Ukrainian army commander to Start redeploying some units from Kursk to strengthen the defense in Donetsk

Recently, the American publication “New York Times” reported that Ukraine had sent more troops to defend the lines around Pokrovsk last week. Russia has refrained from a direct attack on the city to target its south to expand the front and threaten to encircle the Ukrainian forces between Pokrovsk and the city of Korakhov. The semi-circle that Russia has created in this area is a tactic known as “cauldron”.

The advance to Pokrovsk has been the most successful part of Russia’s operation in the Donbass this summer. Elsewhere, Moscow launched offensives along much of the eastern front but achieved little after months of heavy fighting. It must be said that Russia’s overall attack in Donbass has been costly and incremental.

The newspaper further pointed to Ukraine’s surprise attack on the Kursk region in Russia in August and wrote that although Kiev has made significant gains in this operation, at the same time, Russia has continued to advance in the Donbass, and President Vladimir Putin Russia has said that the Moscow army will not divert forces from this region to counter Ukraine’s advance in Russia.

On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the success of the country’s army in liberating more areas of Kursk province from the occupation of the Ukrainian army.
