Hamas responded to the ceasefire proposal/ America: It is useful and we will check it
The resistance groups announced in a statement on Wednesday morning that they have given a response in line with the interests of the Palestinian people to the American-Israeli truce proposal, while Washington also evaluated Hamas's response as a useful action.
Eviralnews; On Tuesday evening, a source affiliated with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that this movement has delivered its response to Israel's proposal to the mediators.
A little later, Al Jazeera news channel, citing its sources, reported that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, and Ziad al-Nakhleh, the secretary general of Islamic Jihad, submitted this answer to Qatar's foreign minister.
Following the publication of this news, Qatar and Egypt announced that they had received the response of Hamas and Palestinian groups regarding the offer of a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners of the Israel regime.
The two countries also announced that joint mediation efforts with the United States will continue until an agreement is reached. Qatar and Egypt emphasized that they will review the response and coordinate with the relevant parties regarding the next steps.
Finally, Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements said in a statement on Wednesday morning: “Our response (to the ceasefire agreement) prioritizes the interests of our people, stopping the aggression against Gaza and the complete withdrawal of the occupiers from the Gaza Strip.”
According to Al Jazeera's website, this joint statement states: “We emphasize the readiness of the Palestinian delegation to take a positive approach to reach an agreement that ends the war.”
One of the heads of the Islamic Jihad also said: “Any initiative must guarantee the cessation of aggression and the complete withdrawal of the occupiers from the Gaza Strip.” “The real problem is that the occupiers don't want to stick to a clear ceasefire.”
Following this stance, John Kirby, the strategic affairs coordinator of the White House's National Security Council, also announced that it would be useful to receive an answer from Hamas regarding the US President's plan for a ceasefire in Gaza.
He said: “We found out that Hamas has given its answer to Qatar and Egypt and we are evaluating it.”
