Russia's record in agricultural export earnings

According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, Dmitry Patrushev, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia, says that his country earned an unprecedented income from the export of agricultural products last year.

Foreign sales of agricultural products in 2023 will generate more than $45 billion in revenue for Moscow, the Russian official said.

He pointed out that there is a possibility of an increase after the final calculations are done.

According to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, production indicators show that Russia has once again strengthened its position as a net exporter of agricultural products.

The Minister of Agriculture of Russia explained that Russia's grain harvest reached 147 million tons last year, which is slightly lower than the record of 157 million tons in 2022. Production of 500 thousand tons, meat production increased by 300 thousand tons, and fish production is at the highest level of the last 30 years equal to 5.3 million tons.

According to this Russian official, Moscow is the largest producer of this type of fish in the world with the production of more than 600,000 tons of salmon.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture had previously estimated that Russia's grain exports this season would reach more than 60 million tons. Despite the Western sanctions, this country has been the largest grain exporter in recent years thanks to a good harvest and competitive prices.

Russia has sent free grain to some African countries facing food crises.
