America: The Houthis have weapons that reach the Mediterranean Sea

According to the Tasnim International News Agency, an official of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) told Bloomberg News that the US government is concerned about the ability of the Yemenis to expand the scope of their attacks on ships outside the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to the Mediterranean Sea.

Without mentioning his name, he added: Yemen's Ansarullah group has advanced weapons and ballistic missiles that they have deployed in an unprecedented manner. In addition, they use drones in their attacks.

This assessment comes while American military officials and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council held a meeting in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. According to Bloomberg, this meeting was held with the aim of integrating the air and missile defense systems of the region and activating the warning system.

The US Department of Defense is concerned about Yemeni missile capabilities after the Yemeni authorities warned at the beginning of this month that they will expand their attacks to the Mediterranean Sea.

Since November 2023, the Yemenis have carried out more than 90 missile and drone operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden against ships bound for the port of Eilat, Israeli ships, and US-British coalition ships.
