Iran's ambassador met with the head of religious affairs of Georgia

According to the report of the international group of Tasnim news agency, Iranian Ambassador Mahmoud Adeeb met with Zaza Vashakmadze, advisor to the prime minister and head of the Religious Affairs Agency of Georgia, and discussed and exchanged opinions on ways to strengthen cultural cooperation by using the privileged capacity of the Muslim community of this country.

In this meeting, the ambassador of our country pointed out the support of the Georgian government towards the followers of religions and especially the Muslim community and acknowledged that this support is quite evident.

The head of the Religious Affairs Agency of Georgia, while thanking Iran's humanitarian aid to the Muslim community, called this community the citizens of Georgia and counted their protection and strengthening as one of their duties.

He further pointed to the adoption of an independent and pragmatic strategy with Georgia's neighbors, especially Iran, in the field of peace development, and expressed his readiness to develop cooperation in any issue that includes mutual interests.

In this meeting, which was attended by Mehdi Saadat Nejad, the new cultural advisor, and Ali Ghorbani, the embassy's religious affairs expert, issues such as holding joint meetings in the framework of interfaith dialogue and confronting what promotes religious extremism in the name of religion were discussed. .
