Lavrov: African countries did not accept the West's game in Ukraine
During his speech at a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country on the occasion of Africa Day, the Russian Foreign Minister said: African countries are resisting the induction of Russia-phobia and the West's attempt to drag them into the Ukraine crisis.
According to the Anna Science and Technology News Agency's policy group, during the ceremony, Lavrov thanked African countries for their responsible stance towards the Ukraine crisis, and added: “Despite the repeated efforts of the West to drag African countries into a campaign of Russophobia, you continue to make assessments.” And you are committed to fair approaches.
Recalling that the Russian Embassy in Burkina Faso resumed its activities in December last year, he said: Russia plans to open its embassies in Sierra Leone, Niger and South Sudan in the near future.
Referring to the special capacity of cooperation between Russia and African countries, the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized: This capacity is very large and we will jointly use it to bring our relations to the level of a real strategic partnership.
