The Russian embassy added that such acts of destruction are perceived by the Pentagon as an attempt by the US to use “Russophobic slogans” to justify its plans for military space exploration.

Pentagon claims to have contacted Russia about space weapons

Defense Secretary John Plum said on Saturday that the United States is in high-level contact with Moscow officials regarding news of Russia's space weapons development. According to him, Washington is working with its allies, partners and the Russian side to convince all parties that deploying such weapons in space is not a “responsible step”.
