According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Sputnik, the President of Russia enjoys high trust among the public opinion of this country.
The results of a survey by the Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VCIOM) on Friday indicate that 78.9 percent of Russian people trust President Vladimir Putin. In the job performance evaluation section, 76.2 percent of the survey participants approved Putin's job performance in general.
The Russian presidential election is scheduled to be held on March 15-17, 2024. 71-year-old Putin has been in the Kremlin for a total of four terms – from 2000 to 2008 and from 2012 to now – as the president of Russia. Putin served as Prime Minister from 2008 to 2012 while Dmitry Medvedev was the current Deputy of the Russian Security Council, the then President of Russia. If Putin wins the 2024 election, he could remain president until 2030 under six-year term limits implemented in 2012.
The survey of the Russian Center for Opinion Research (VCIOM) was conducted from January 22 to 28 with the participation of 1,600 people.
