Rumor: Images of Spider-Man 3 have been leaked
Images of an early version of Spider-Man 3 have recently surfaced, which appear to be remnants of the December 2023 reveal.
In October 2023, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released for PlayStation 5 and was met with widespread acclaim from critics and the public. However, not long after, a huge leak at Spider-Man developer Insomniac Studios revealed a significant portion of the studio's roadmap, projects in development, deleted content, and more.
Is Spider-Man 3 Confirmed?
A third installment in the Spider-Man series seems to be a certainty, but fans are still waiting for a major expansion pack for the second game. Recently, a set of images have surfaced on social media claiming to be from Spider-Man 3, but these images don't reveal much and are obviously raw and from the early stages of development. Also, the images seem to confirm Silk's playability:
According to the comics, Cindy 'Silk' Moon is bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker, but she develops different abilities such as Silk-Sense, which is said to be more advanced than Peter Parker's Spider-Sense. He can also produce his own organic threads, which eliminates the need to use a threader. In some stories, Silk has an extraterrestrial connection to Peter Parker due to being bitten by the same spider, and is therefore able to identify him throughout the Multiverse.
All in all, these images don't show much more than a few views and a few posed shots of Silk running around town. It seems that in their creation, the set of movements of the character Miles Morales was used, which shows that these images were the initial study of this character.
In the end, leaked content should be viewed with skepticism. While the recent hack revealed a lot of information and images, it is important to verify the authenticity of all of this information.
