Washington: We have communication channels with Tehran
According to Khabar Online, the US Assistant Secretary of State said in a statement today that a new proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza is currently on the table and Washington is waiting for the response of the Hamas movement.
In an interview with Sky News Arabic, he emphasized: “The only available solution is the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.”
The US Assistant Secretary of State further noted: “The threats of the Houthis (Yemen's Ansarullah) against shipping cannot be stopped quickly.”
In another part of his statement, this American official said: “We have communication channels with Iran and we ask this country to prevent the spread of tensions.” We ask Iran to stop supporting the groups in the region such as the Houthis and Hezbollah.
According to ISNA, Iran has repeatedly announced that it does not have a proxy force in the region and the resistance groups act against the occupiers and the Zionist regime based on the interests of their countries.
Tehran has also emphasized that if the American support to the Zionist regime ends, the case of the war in Gaza will be closed and the tension in the region should also be reduced.
This American official further claimed that “Hizbollah is leading Lebanon to a dangerous situation, and America wants the weapons to be in the hands of the Lebanese government and that Hezbollah is only a political party.”
He also said that Washington is trying for a 6-week ceasefire in Gaza, and it is not acceptable to carry out military operations in Rafah before the civilians are transferred to safe areas.
Claiming that Israel is a sovereign country and must deal with Hamas, the US assistant secretary of state claimed: “We are not dictating anything to any side, but we are sending serious messages.”
The war of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip continues for the 160th time and in the midst of continued violent bombings and killings in different areas of the Gaza Strip amid the aggravation of widespread hunger and famine, especially in the north.
According to the report of the Gaza Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs in this region in the sixth month of the war has reached more than 31 thousand 272 people and the wounded have reached more than 73 thousand people.
