Bach's reaction to the doping of Chinese swimmers

According to Tasnim news agency and quoted by AFP; After the Chinese swimmers' doping test situation, Thomas Bach expressed confidence in the performance of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and its control rules.

The head of the International Olympic Committee said: We have full confidence in WADA and its control rules, the agency has fully followed them. WADA has informed the IOC of the procedures it follows.

Thomas Bach noted: In the case of Chinese swimmers, we also trust WADA. If all the procedures are followed, there is no reason why they should not be there (at the 2024 Olympics).

It was previously revealed that in January 2021, 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine. WADA then supported the Chinese side's decision not to conduct additional tests and exclude athletes from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (Japan), which were postponed from 2020 due to COVID-19 and were held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The Chinese swimming team won three gold, two silver and one bronze medals in those games.
