Mehr News Agency, Reuters reported on Sunday that Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali left the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

According to Agence France Presse, the military governments of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger announced their immediate withdrawal from the West African bloc on Sunday.

The heads of the 3 Sahel countries issued a statement and announced that the withdrawal “without delay” from the West African Economic Forum is an “independent decision”.

This news agency has not released information about the reason for this decision by the mentioned countries.
