Discovering a new sign on Mars to prove the existence of aliens

NASA has detected a gas on Mars that is “produced by life on Earth,” puzzling scientists as to what might be lurking on the red planet.

The Curiosity rover discovered a continuous flow of methane gas from Gale Crater that appears at different times of the day and fluctuates seasonally.

The research team believes that the methane could be hidden beneath the hardened salt and released only when the Martian temperature rises or when Curiosity moves above the crust.

On Earth, this simple molecule consisting of one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms is usually a sign of life.

The point where the methane gas came out of Gale Crater appears to be the only point on the Red Planet where Curiosity has discovered the gas.

Scientists conducted experiments to simulate Martian soil conditions in the laboratory to understand what might happen in reality. They discovered that over a long period of time, salts (perchlorates) seep out from deep within the planet's rocky, dusty surface, or what's known as “regolith.”

“Toxic perchlorates” are abundant in ice trapped beneath the Martian surface. With the gradual evaporation of the ice, the salty vapor is filtered and leaves a part of it.

When enough salt accumulates in the rock, it forms a shell or shell.

On Mars, such a process could occur naturally over a long period of time in areas of shallow ice, and enough salt may accumulate in the upper layer to form a crust, the scientists wrote.

As the salt vapor rises, methane gas of unknown (so far) origin also rises. It could have come from “some kind of living organism,” or it could be the result of geological processes beneath the Martian surface that remain invisible to scientists.

The study was published in the journal JGR Planets.
