Garibashvili rejected the European Parliament's resolution against Georgia

According to the report of Tasnim International News Agency, “Irakli Garibashvili”, the head of the ruling party “Dream of Georgia”, in response to the resolution approved by the European Parliament regarding the draft of the “Transparency of Foreign Influence” law, said: The resolution of the European Parliament is unacceptable, unfair and insulting, and also contains a trick. which refers to the possibility of revising the visa-free regime.

Stating that the people of Georgia understand well the purpose of passing this resolution, he said: I want to tell the people that the “European People's Party” implemented this shameful and unfair resolution precisely by lobbying the “National Movement”, its main ally in Europe.

It should be noted that, on April 3, the ruling party of Georgian Dream submitted a draft law to the Parliament of this country, which is called the “Transparency of Foreign Influence” law.

According to this law, non-governmental organizations and media in Georgia, which receive more than 20% of their budget from foreign sources, must register and introduce themselves as foreign representatives or “agents under foreign influence”.

The European Union has called for the non-approval of the bill, stating that the foreign influence bill conflicts with the democratic reforms required for Georgia to join the European Union.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, warned on X social network that this bill will further distance Georgia from the European Union.
